March 10, 2019
Dear JRD Families,
It is with great excitement that we announce that the Jr. Red Devils Football Program (JRD) & the Flemington Falcons Youth Football Program (Falcons) are now UNIFIED into one football program! Beginning with the 2019 season, the unified football program will play under the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) and will play under HC Falcons Football.
The JRD Football Coaches Leadership Council (FCLC) and Falcons Board, as well as the JRD Board, have collaborated to establish this unified program, with both organizations bringing their 50+ year football histories and experiences together for the betterment of all youth football players in the Hunterdon Central Regional High School sending district.
Under this unification plan, a collaborative leadership council has been established to guide the day to day operations of the football program. The council will be called Football Coaches Leadership Council, FCLC. Equal representation from the former programs will form the FCLC including Ms. Theresa Apostolis, Mr. Ronald Garutti Jr., Mr. Bob Martin, Mr. Ryan Murray, Mr. Albert Quintero, Mr. Brian Rawlins, Mr. Chuck Richardson, Mr. Lito Rivera, Mr. Jarred Tucker, and Mr. Bruce Washington. The responsibilities of the council include but are not limited to; providing the highest quality football experience for all football players and families, player safety, coaching selections, asset management and establishing coaches training & philosophy. The council will begin its work in March as we plan the 2019 season which officially begins on August 19 at Copper Hill Elementary School.
All youth football players within the HCRHS sending district will now play together under the NJ Suburban Youth Football League. NJSYFL is a strong, stable and local NJ league founded in 1972 with the objective to make the game of football “all-inclusive,” fun and safer. Grade-level based teams will be offered at every level (Flag Team (s) K-3rd grade and Tackle Team (s) at each grade level (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th). There will be a set schedule with a minimum of 8 regular season football games (4+ games played at the Hunterdon Central Football field). We are very excited to be joining the Suburban League as a unified program where every athlete will have the opportunity to play grade level based football. The NJSYFL also enables a tremendous game day experience for all football players, cheerleaders, and our community. For further information on NJSYFL, please visit www.njsyfl.com.
For any JRD parents or guardians interested in coaching during the upcoming season, please register through the Falcons website by March 12.
If you have any questions, please contact Brian Rawlins at email@example.com or Katie McGann, Football Corresponding Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those who have already registered for JRD Football for the 2019 season, a full refund for football registration fees and buy-outs will be made in the original form of payment. All refunds will be processed by Friday, 3/15. If you have any questions regarding your refund, please contact Jill Stem at email@example.com. Please be advised your child will no longer be registered for football for the 2019 season.
In order to register your child for football for the 2019 season, please visit the Flemington Falcons website at www.flemingtonfalcons.org and follow the prompts for 2019 registration. All questions regarding new registration should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
As we begin this new chapter together for unified youth football in Flemington, we remain committed to supporting the Football Coaches Leadership Council as well as the Falcons Board. We would like to thank Mr. Tim Bart and Ms. Theresa Apostolis and their leadership team for our collaboration in making the future for our youth football players in Flemington an even brighter one. We are confident this collaborative work will provide a stronger overall program and experience and for youth football players and we are excited to lead this forward. One town, One team.
A message from Michele Luciano, JRD Director of Cheer:
As a result of the unification of football, JRD will no longer host independent football teams. Effective Fall 2019, the JRD Cheer teams will be cheering Game Day for the NJ Suburban Youth Football League teams to remain united with our brother team(s). With respect to any competition affiliation (i.e., Rec Cheer, Half-Year Extended Cheer, and Nationals Sr. Rec Cheer), we proudly state that our cheer teams will remain solely affiliated with JRD Cheer and will continue to participate and compete under the UCA affiliation, along with our surrounding high school teams.
The JRD Cheer registration process, fundraising, and the like will remain status quo and will be done through www.HCJrDevils.com. If you have any questions, please contact Michele Luciano at email@example.com.
We will be scheduling a town-hall style Cheer Only meeting in the near future to discuss and address specific questions.
There will also be an Open House taking place on Sunday, April 7th at 2:00 pm at the HCRHS Field House to kick off the 2019 football season!
