Flemington Midget Football
a 501(c)3 non-profit organization since it was founded in 1967

Flemington Midget Football (FMF) is a multi-league, family choice organization.  We have teams that participate in two excellent, independent football leagues and our cheerleading compete at the national level.

We have been participating in the Warren County Midget Football League (WCMFL) in since 1967, that's 46 years. You can check out their league website.  www.wcmfl.net
In 2010, we expanded and joined the Jr Skyland Football Conference (JSFC) which was founded in 2004.  There are two divisions of play.  the top teir Skyland Division and the playtime focused Patriot Division.  We field teams in both.  You can check out their website. www.jrskylandfootball.org
We also have our Jr Red Devils Cheerleading teams that support our football teams at all levels and compete under the governing rules of the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA).  The Sr Rec Comp team competes annually in the UCA Nationals (http://uca.varsity.com/) in Orlando FL.

What is "Family Choice" ?

FMF participates in multiple leagues and seasons to maximize the football and cheerleading opportunities for its members.  The two football leagues have unique characteristics and advantages that appeal to different families.  "Family Choice" is a family's ability to decide which league they participate in.  Each family can select the league that is best suited to style, game-day experience and competitiveness they are looking for.

Safety First

One thing that is common about both leagues that they are strictly age-based league.   Neither the WCMFL nor the JSFC endorse the archaic concept of "Older/Lighter".   The documentation about the dangers, risks and developmental barriers when older players "play down" with younger players is overwhelming.   If you'd like to read one of the articles on this topic, you can find it HERE on the USA Football website.

Additionally, you can read up on how FMF has been in the fore-front of player safety for years.  (Read Article)

Playing Time Opportuities Are Our Priority

FMF understands that it is on-the-field, game-day experience that really helps to develop players and is one of the primary reasons why boys want to play football.

We provide the most on-the-field play-time opportunities in the Central Hunterdon area.  We can do this because we participate in a variety of leagues, each with it's own benefits and characteristics.   We have no restrictions nor do we discriminate when it comes to playing-time eligibility.

Whether it's your first year with us or you've been part of FMF for years, everyone is treated equally and fairly and earns their play-time through hard work, dedication and a desire to learn.

Facilities

FMF utilizes multiple facilities.  Two it operates and one it uses.

Jimmy Wilson Memorial Field  (JWM)

This field is located behind the former American Legion and the new Roy Rogers, next to Flemington-Raritan baseball.  It has been referred to as Pioneer Field in the past, although it was officially dedicated & renamed to Jimmy Wilson Memorial Field in March of 1994 in honor of a former player, Jimmy Wilson.   It has a lighted football field and has a field house that contains a kitchen area, bathrooms, meeting areas and equipment storage.   It had been the home field for the Flemington Pioneers for over 45 years.  It is now the practice facility for the Jr Skyland Varsity and JV teams.

FMF Complex (FCX)

This is our new home and the new field and building located behind Wal-Mart.  It has a fully lighted game field and practice area.  FMF also operates half of the building on the complex (we share the building with the food pantry).  The building has bathrooms, storage and a vaulted area that can accommodate a full sized cheer mats and cheer practices.   The FCX field is being expanded to 100 yd length and the practice field is being re-graded.  This is the practice facility for the WCMFL Varsity and JV teams and all Peewee and Flag teams.  It is also the home field for the WCMFL teams.

Also

Steward Field:  Hunterdon Central HS

FMF also uses Steward Field, the Hunterdon Central football field, as the home field or the Jr Red Devils Varsity & JV Skyland games on Saturday nights.
